I am proud to be the Society’s President again for the third time and also a member since the 1970s when I came to Norwich as a student. I spent the first 20 years of my life living in Swansea Valley and the rest here in Norwich with Carolyn and the girls. Norwich Welsh aptly describes me as I hang onto the language of my birth.
What does it mean to be Welsh? It can be so many things — the feeling of coming home when crossing the Severn Bridge. Hearing harp music and male voice choirs. Belting out 'What's New Pussycat?' with Tom Jones. Eating cawl and Welsh cakes, and the best tasting lamb in the world!
